Process
Here’s how the Henry Semaglutide subscription works:
- Initiate the Sign-Up Process: Begin the sign-up process by indicating which state you live in. This information determines whether you are eligible to receive the prescription, as Henry Meds may not be available in some states. It also helps the company find a provider licensed within your state. You’ll also be asked to indicate your availability time for the medical consultation.
- Pay the Subscription Fee: The next step is to provide some basic information, such as name, age, and contact, and pay the subscription fee for the first month. After that, you’ll be charged every month as your treatment continues.
Medical Intake Form: Once you’ve paid the fee, you’ll be directed to fill out the medical intake form, where you’ll answer questions about your medical and weight history. You may be asked about any medical conditions you may have, specifically those related to weight gain. The information you provide on these forms will help the provider determine whether semaglutide is the right treatment for you.
- Provider Consultation: On the day and time of your consultation, you’ll speak to the provider one-on-one on an audio-video call using Doxy, a HIPAA-compliant telehealth system. The licensed provider will assess the information on your medical intake forms and ask questions. They may ask you to complete lab work, if needed to determine or confirm your condition. Labs aren’t included in the subscription, but Heny Meds can help you navigate how to pay for them.
- Prescription: After consultation (and lab work if needed), the provider will finalize your prescription and decide the appropriate dosage per your medical needs and weight goals. Keep in mind that you’ll only be prescribed if medically approved. Otherwise, your subscription will end, and you may be eligible for a refund.
- Medication Delivery: Your prescription will be sent to the approved pharmacy for production and delivery, and you’ll receive it at your door. You can choose the pharmacy from the list of Henry-approved pharmacies. Henry Meds may accept pharmacies outside their network to fill prescriptions, but you may have to pay the medication cost at the pharmacy to receive it. Most patients receive the dosage for 90 days in one delivery.
Treatment Effectiveness
According to a cohort study published in the JAMA Network, semaglutide injections can lead to significant weight loss. Their study found that participants lost 10.9% of their body weight over a six month period using semaglutide injections.
The Henry Semaglutide program prescribes compounded semaglutide injections in weekly doses. The company claims that over 1,000 patients have used the injections to lose weight but results may vary. Semaglutide may also have side effects, which your provider will guide you about.
Additional Features
At this time, Henry Meds only offers weight loss injections.
Ease of use
Henry Meds is an online telehealth service, so patients don’t have to visit a clinic or hospital (except for initial lab work if required). The website has a user-friendly interface, where you start by providing basic information and then pay for the subscription.
The form’s questions are intuitive and asked individually, so users aren’t overwhelmed by information overload.
While Henry Meds provides different treatment options, it doesn’t have an initial questionnaire or tool where potential customers could determine which treatment is best for them. Such an addition would have been helpful for people who aren’t completely sure if semaglutide is for them or if they need another treatment. That happens when you consult a healthcare provider who advises which medication program best suits the patient’s needs and determines the dosage.
Post-treatment Support
Henry Meds doesn’t offer any post-treatment support, as its services are only available to subscribed patients. You can stop your subscription anytime regardless of whether your treatment has finished.
The duration of your treatment depends on your weight loss goals and medical conditions. Some patients may need to stay on semaglutide even after achieving their target weight because of their condition. Your healthcare provider can best guide you on the length of your treatment, dosage, and whether you should stop the medication.
Thank you!
